What is a CDET Recognised School (RS)?
- A CDET Recognised School is a pre-vocational dance or musical theatre school that has been awarded the Council’s certificate of good professional practice
- If you attend or intend taking classes at a local dance or musical theatre school it is essential you do so at a school that distinguishes itself from the large numbers of unregulated 'dance and musical theatre schools' operating throughout the country
- It is important that you choose a dance or musical theatre school because of its commitment to professional practice, your safety and wellbeing
- Schools awarded CDET's Recognised School mark demonstrate to students, parents, and guardians that they adhere to the standards demanded by the industry; standards designed to protect and safeguard young people whether dancing for leisure or with an eye to a career in the profession
More information for students and for schools wishing to apply for the Recognised School award is available on this website and by telephone.
