LIVERPOOL THEATRE SCHOOL ANNOUNCES OPEN DAYS
Liverpool Theatre School will be holding a series of open days for young performers considering a career in musical theatre or professional acting. The open days will take place on 23rd January, 27th February and 20th March next year and will provide an opportunity for school leavers to find out more about attending Liverpool Theatre School.
The prestigious musical theatre and acting school is only one of two places in the north west to offer the highly regarded Trinity College London diploma in both professional musical theatre and professional acting. The school also offers a one year foundation course in musical theatre.
The open day is designed for school leavers who have an interest in pursing a career on the stage. During the open day, young performers and their families will have the chance to meet Liverpool Theatre School’s team of highly experienced teachers, many of whom have worked with some of the industry’s top talent. Adam Douglas, Course Director, has worked with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh, while Alan Pattison, Head of the Acting Course, has worked with David Hare and Jude Law.
Maxine Ellis, Principal at Liverpool Theatre School, said: “Most performers who go on to achieve success know from an early age that they want to be on the stage. Our open days have been created to help those young people find the right career path, enabling them to get the attention they deserve.
“The format gives young people a good opportunity to ask both students and staff questions about what it’s really like to train here.”
Liverpool Theatre School Graduate, Oliver Ormson, who is currently touring with The Addams Family as Lucas Beineke, said: “The support and training I received at Liverpool Theatre School prepared me well for this incredible profession.
“I thoroughly enjoyed my course and by the time I graduated, I was really well equipped for auditions. I’ll always be grateful to Liverpool Theatre School for giving me the best possible start to my stage career.”
Liverpool Theatre School, established in 1939, attracts students from across the country and abroad as well as Merseyside. More than 90 percent of students at Liverpool Theatre School have achieved success in musical theatre or progressed to higher education with many graduates appearing in West End musicals.
Auditions for Liverpool Theatre School will take place on 3rd December and 28th January, 4th March, 22nd April and 10th June next year.
