Dance School Officer

An opportunity has arisen for someone with solid administrative experience to join the Dance School on a full time permanent basis.

The RAD Dance School, based at our premises in Battersea, offers a wide variety of dance classes for young people and adults with classes taking place during the afternoon and evenings Monday to Friday and also all day on Saturday during term time.


The exciting role of Dance School Officer will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to use their strong administration and organisational skills to facilitate the smooth running of RAD Dance School under the guidance of the Dance School Manager. In this role you will be the first point of contact for students and parents / guardians and proactively support them throughout their time with the Royal Academy of Dance. You will contribute ideas for high quality, innovative Dance School classes and events to ensure maximum numbers and income.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid experience of working in an administrative role gained in an office environment.

You should be committed and enthusiastic with A Level standard education or equivalent and have GCSE English and Maths. You will have excellent oral and written communication skills in English, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) and a good use of the internet and email.

You will need to be able to provide excellent customer service and be willing to work on a wide range of tasks demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail in this busy role. An ability to work within a team and use your initiative when necessary is essential.

Previous experience of working with children and young people in a responsible capacity as well as having a First Aid training and/or qualification would be helpful. Some experience of working with budgets, knowledge of Health and Safety practices and procedures, as well as an understanding of Safeguarding and Data Protection related issues would be advantageous.

Appointment to this post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Check from the Disclosure and Barring Service, Disclosure Scotland or other applicable international body.
