Dance Careers Day

A unique and informative one-day bi-annual event providing high-quality, relevant and up-to-date, information and guidance about further education, training and career opportunities in the dance and musical theatre industries.

Dance Careers Day is specifically tailored to meet the needs of young people in the 14-18 age range in the London and Home Counties.

The event has run for the past four years. In 2010 the day was divided into two repeat sessions, one in the morning from 10.00 am to 1.15pm and the second in the afternoon from 1.30 to 4.50pm. Each session was organised into a carousel of workshops including:

  • Ask An Expert — answers to burning questions from a panel of top professionals currently working in the dance and musical theatre industries
  • Behind The Scenes — the roles and responsibilities of the people who support performances
  • Audition Time — participation in a mock audition for training at a vocational school
  • Careers in Dance — short seminars and an extensive careers and exhibition fair

Previous exhibitors have included Dance UK, Londondance, Dancing Times, London School of Contemporary Dance, Laban, Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, Royal Academy of Dance, Akademi, BBC Blast, The Brit School, East London Dance, Circus Space, Italia Conti School, Stella Mann College, London Studio Centre, Bird College, Urdang Academy... and others.
